The Lagan Valley Tow Path provides an excellent walk full of wildlife and wonder all the way to Belfast! The route is 11 miles long with soft surfaced paths away from busy roads. As a result, families and athletes alike can exercise for hours, utilising the many varied locations linked along the way. Additionally, Lagan Valley Island is now home to a new ‘Made in Lisburn Castlereagh’ Coffee Dock, serving a selection of locally produced and sourced products. The Coffee Dock serves gourmet sandwiches, wraps and salads from popular local café Daltons, as well as tempting homemade treats baked fresh and Organic Fairtrade coffee. It’s also open at the weekends from 10am to 2pm!

Call into the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum for some Halloween-themed crafts! Lisburn Museum offers an innovative programme of sessions for children aged 0-5 years. The education team devises activities that enable very young children to learn from museum exhibitions and collections.

Flipping Crepes is a recent, mouth-watering addition to Lisburn Square. Patrons can choose from a selection of sweet and savoury baked goods such as a bacon and maple syrup waffle or a classic warm crepe and ice cream. The cosy setting is ideal for the coming wintry weather

The Purple Turnip Festival returns to Lisburn for its 9th year this Autumn. On the 28th oto the 29th of October, families can take part in the Turnip Hunt, enjoy free activities, dance on the interactive light floor and additionally get up close and personal with a wide range of exotic animals. This event is entirely free!

Hillsborough forest & The Dark Walk

Hillsborough forest is set in the picturesque village of Hillsborough and is adjacent to Hillsborough Fort.  Walkers can follow way-marked routes, which provide a variety of different paths through the meandering woods.  The lake area is a forest wildlife sanctuary and is also home to a wide variety of birds and animals.
