As part of Lisburn & Castlereagh’s NI Centenary Programme 20201 the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum presents a discussion with BBC Stephen Watson on ’100 years of sport in Northern Ireland’ with special guests (TBC).
Stephen Watson is one of Northern Ireland’s most respected sports journalists. As the main sports presenter on BBC Newsline, Stephen has fronted BBC Newsline's coverage of the London Olympic Games and Ryder Cup, and has also covered recent landmark events such as the major golfing successes of Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke. Stephen is the recipient of a kidney transplant and represented Great Britain & Northern Ireland at the World Transplant Games.
LCCC’s Centenary Programme, marking 100 years since the foundation of Northern Ireland, reflects on a range of Centenary-related themes, including history, sports, industry, the arts and identity.
The talks are free to attend, and will be hosted online at 7pm each evening.
