Historic Royal Palaces present a series of special talks by esteemed speakers that will generate conversation around the Centenary of Northern Ireland. The talks will take place in the politically symbolic surroundings of Hillsborough Castle with a view to drawing out the complex history of the past 100 years and its implications on our present and future. 

Join preeminent Irish columnist, author, literary editor, and drama critic Fintan O'Toole for a special Centenary lecture, drawing on his nuanced perspective on Irish and British history.

Fintan O'Toole is an Irish columnist, author, literary editor, and drama critic. He has written for the Irish Times since 1988, was drama critic for the New York Daily News from 1997 to 2001 and is a regular contributor to The New York Review of Books. His latest book, Heroic Failure: Brexit and the Politics of Pain is a cultural analysis of the political ideas behind Brexit.
