About
We’ll look at the earliest wildflowers in history, as well as the most common British wildflowers of today. We’ll learn how to “un-garden” by planting wildflowers in our garden and learn how they spread in the wild. Finally, we’ll discuss the importance of wildflowers and their many benefits to humans, animals, and the environment.
The workshop will cover:
The history of wildflowers and the oldest known wildflower
Common types of British wildflower children may be familiar with
More unknown wildflowers in the UK
Safety around wildflowers and edible plants
Growing wildflowers in your garden and ‘un-gardening’
Planting your own wildflower meadow
The anatomy of a flower and its different parts
How wildflowers are spread in the wild (pollination)
The importance and benefits of wildflowers and wild green spaces
