Make sure to visit the Moira Food & Drink Festival which runs for four food filled days from Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th August 2019.  As part of the festival, the renowned Speciality Food Fair which is in its 5th year, is now extended to an extra day, running on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August.

Kicking off the Moira Food & Drink Festival on Thursday 15th is a menu specially created by Chef Chris McGowan to celebrate the wealth and quality of food in the Lisburn & Castlereagh area, with a ‘Dine with the Producers Supper’ in his Michelin Gourmand starred restaurant. Wine and Brine. For those preferring something lighter, there will be a Moira Festival comedy evening in the Distillery at The StillHouse and a pub quiz in Pretty Mary’s pub.

Things liven up even further on Friday evening with a Street Party on the Main Street. Expect colourful street theatre, face painter’s and balloons, a kiddie’s disco and live music from local duo Runaway Go.  Those families that seek a challenge are invited to take part in the family orienteering treasure hunt in Moira Demesne.

Children’s fun will move up a gear this year too with more colourful street-theatre, workshop planting activities, arts and crafts.

The popular Kitchen Sessions will feature award-winning chefs from local restaurants Wine and Brine, Square Bistro and Clenaghans Restaurant, with renowned Guest Chef, Paula McIntyre MBE, appearing on both days. Masterclasses and workshops will run across Saturday and Sunday in the workshop zone, with an observational beehive and bee-keeping talks, cider tasting workshops, cocktail masterclasses, foraging walks and more.
