Celebrating 10 Years of the Market!

This May isn't just any regular market, we are celebrating a whole decade of the Royal Hillsborough Farmers Market! For 10 years, this market has been bringing together the very best local growers, bakers, and makers.

To help us kick off this milestone anniversary in style, we have a very special treat. We are being joined by the incredible Peter Corry Productions, who will be bringing a touch of theatrical magic to The Dark Walk. They’ll be on hand in character to promote the highly anticipated upcoming concerts at the Castle, so you never know who you will get chatting to!

As always, the market is a paradise for food lovers. The Dark Walk will be lined with passionate traders offering an incredible array of artisan food and drink. You can expect everything from organic meats, fresh seafood, and seasonal vegetables to small-batch chutneys, award-winning cheeses, and decadent sweet treats.

Our vibrant street food vendors will be serving up hot, delicious dishes from around the world, making it the perfect spot to grab an alfresco lunch.

Beyond the food, it’s a wonderful opportunity to support local creatives. Take your time browsing the beautiful arts and crafts stalls, featuring handmade jewelry, bespoke ceramics, textiles, and stunning artwork.

Fun for the Whole Family

The Royal Hillsborough Farmers’ Market is a truly family-friendly affair, and this year we are turning up the fun for our younger visitors. There is lots for the kids to do, including balloon modelling, face painting and giant garden games on the grass to keep everyone entertained.

For our May market, we will also be joined by musicians. Shannon Weatherup, Ria Maguire and Ben Cutler.

We will also be joined by brilliant Peter Corry productions who will be promoting their Hillsborough Summer Concerts. Expect to see characters interacting with the crowd.

While you explore, you might also catch a glimpse of the famous Hillsborough Fort Guard in their traditional uniform, keeping a watchful eye over the festivities and adding a wonderful sense of living history to your day.

Make a day of it

Once you’ve filled your tote bags with artisan goodies, why not extend your stay?

Explore the beautiful forest walks, visit the majestic Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, or enjoy a refreshing drink in one of the village's award-winning pubs and cafes. There are also lots of independent boutique shops to browse too.

We can't wait to welcome you back to The Dark Walk to celebrate 10 years of this popular Farmers market.

See you there!
