There is nothing quite like a couple of hours on a Saturday spent at a farmers market and discovering your new favourite flavours directly from the talented people who made them. Imagine a sunny July morning spent wandering beneath a historic canopy of trees, chatting with passionate local food producers—from bakers and chocolatiers to artisan makers of preserves, charcuterie and cheese—before filling your basket with handcrafted delicacies you won't find on any supermarket shelf.

Royal Hillsborough Farmers Market returns to its iconic home along The Dark Walk at  at Hillsborough Fort this July, bringing together over 60 of Northern Ireland's finest artisan food, drink and craft producers.

Incredible Artisan Eats

The Dark Walk will be lined with over 60 passionate traders offering an incredible array of sweet treats and artisan foods. Grab a perfectly brewed coffee from Coop Coffee or The Fancy Fox to start your morning, and get ready to sample your way through the market:

Expect Lisburn & Castlereagh locals, Jack's Fudge, Little Popcorn Shop, Moon Gelato, Rosie McNeill Cakes, Tori's Coffee Cakes & Bakes, Kin & Folk and The Daily Apron.

Beyond the sweet treats, our vibrant street food vendors and local producers will be serving up hot, delicious dishes, making it the perfect spot to grab an alfresco lunch in the July sunshine.

The Ultimate Foodie Lineup

Our specialist street food vendors are serving up an incredible array of global and local flavours. Indulge in handcrafted street food built around bold flavours and carefully sourced ingredients.

Nomad has been proving to be a popular new addition to the street food offering at the market with their loaded fries and soft, pillowy bao buns made to order and filled with your choice of slow-cooked shredded duck, tender pulled pork, roasted chicken, or a delicious hoisin-glazed cauliflower.

New to Royal Hillsborough Farmers Market is Tapitas bringing the flavours of Spain to the event.

If you’d like to add a nutritional boost to your weekend treats, be sure to stop by Noreen’s Nettles for hot nettle cleaver tea, comforting nettle soup, and their signature nettle mezze served with crackers. They might even have nettle mash! We promise you - these are delicious!

The Wee Dutch Pancake Shop is back with their fluffy, warm, bite-sized poffertjes (Dutch pancakes) as is The Crepe Makers with a choice of sweet and savoury crepes.

Discover Designer Craft & Local Creativity

Beyond the artisan food, the market is a wonderful opportunity to support incredibly talented local creatives. Take your time browsing the beautiful, bespoke stalls to find that perfect gift (or a treat for yourself).

Explore the beautifully curated stalls, where you'll find everything from eye-catching handmade jewellery from The Quirky Flamingo and Sage & Soul. Discover natural skincare from Plumpy Balms, locally spun wool from Ewe to Yarn, original artwork by Gemma Blakely Art and Susanna Banks, and handcrafted ceramics from Alison Hanvey Ceramics, Thomas Powell Pottery and Vine Haugh Ceramics.

To top it all off, you can breathe new life into your garden with a selection of gorgeous, vibrant perennial plants from Potters Hill Plants. It’s the perfect excuse to find a unique gift or treat yourself to something truly bespoke.

We are a dog-friendly market (if on a short lead) - and we’re delighted to have Barkelicious Bakes with us with their delicious, gourmet dog treats.

Once you’ve explored the stalls, why not extend your stay and experience everything our beautiful historic Royal Hillsborough village has to offer?

Take a stroll through the lush Hillsborough Forest Park, visit the majestic Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, or enjoy a refreshing drink in one of the village's award-winning pubs, restaurants, and cafes. Don't forget to check out the independent boutique shops lining the main street!
