About

The tour itinerary takes in many of the important buildings which illustrate the rich history of Royal Hillsborough through the centuries. We describe how the Hill family, who were the landlords who gave the village its name, built the beautiful place we see today.

As all of our guides are local, we also include stories passed down through generations of local families. Our tour highlights are The Courthouse, The Fort, St Malachy’s Church, Arthur Street, Statue of 4th Marquis, The War Memorial and The Castle.

The tour takes around 1.5 hours but can be tailored to meet your requirements should your time be limited. We currently offer a tour Monday to Saturday at 11:00 for a maximum of 20 people but please contact us for other times and group availability.

All our guides hold OCN NI tour guiding qualifications, are fully insured and are members of Tour Guides NI.

Please bring warm clothes and comfortable shoes.
