About
The ABP Angus Youth Challenge invites teams of two to four students to represent their school, club, or society in this unique skills development programme. Finalists in the competition will have the chance to rear their own calves with the guidance of a mentor from the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE). As an added incentive, teams that advance to the final stage will be treated to an exclusive farm-to-fork inspirational trip.
Designed to complement GCSE studies, the programme focuses on practical learning that aligns with several academic subjects. Beyond agricultural skills, the competition also provides finalists with training in communication, presentation, and interview techniques, helping them to excel both in the competition and in their academic and future careers.
To participate, teams are required to submit a video. Selected teams will then be invited to present their ideas at a high-profile exhibition event at the Eikon Exhibition Centre on 23rd October, where a panel of judges will determine which teams will progress to the finalist stage. The overall winning team will receive a £1,000 cheque.
