About

Building on the record-breaking 7000 visitors during EHOD 2024 – seen by many as the largest EHOD weekend attraction within NI (having quadrupled in size in just 2 years) - the Ulster Aviation Society ('UAS') are again giving the public free access to their amazing pair of authentic Second World War hangars, raising awareness of the site's cultural significance and heritage, along with its educational benefit to the community.

Love Heritage's EHOD NI theme for 2025 is "Architectural Heritage: Past Structures, Future Connections", and the Ulster Aviation Society summarises that perfectly.

We'll have many of our aircraft outside in our compound again and some on display for the first time.

Come and wander around as we will have some volunteer Tour Guides on-hand at various aircraft and exhibits. There may well be some restoration work going on at the back of Hangar 2 (on the right) to show you what some of our Volunteers do. Try out our brand new expanded, state-of-the-art Flight Simulators (we've now 7 of them!) and VR Headsets (we've 6 of them!) in our two Flight Sim & VR Suites.

Hangar Opening Times: 10am – 5pm both days (SAT & SUN) via Gate 3.

We’ll have multiple, volunteer Tour Guides on site both days all being well to help people at various aircraft around our two Second World War hangars, if they require.

We’ll have both Indoor and Outdoor exhibits.

We have extensive FREE Car Parking now with our new parking facilities being made available directly outside our fence opposite our hangars — to the Left as you drive past the prison walls. Keep LEFT as you approach end of prison walls. Veer Left and drive down to Entrance at BOTTOM GATE.

Visitors will simply walk across from car parks, via middle Pedestrian gates (yellow signs) in Car Park 1, and tarmac path of Car Park 2 to our Welcome Marquee at the Main gates. Disabled Parking will be available at the front of Car Park 1, or Car Park 2.

We should have a mobile catering company on-site for Teas & Coffees, Lunch menu etc. — NO Need to Pre-Book.

Just arrive at Gate 3 (due to our location, you'll need a vehicle). — FREE Car Parking (will require a bit of a walk 100-200m.

Use Pedestrian Gates at Top of Car Park 1, or follow yellow Pedestrian cones if in Car Park 2, to enter hangar compound. — Disabled Toilets available. — Baby-Changing facility in one of the disabled Toilets. — FREE Guest Wi-Fi on Fibre Broadband

Wartime Living History Association will also be on display as WWII Re-enactors. 501st Legion Northern Ireland (Causeway Legions) volunteers will also be attending for some photo opportunities with Star Wars fans. The Rock Choir NI will be performing over the weekend.
