About

Having been housed for many years in the Science Museum in London the Black tractor is now on display at the Ulster Transport Museum in Cultra in Northern Ireland. This was the first tractor in the world to incorporate a complete version of the transformational Ferguson system, which revolutionised agricultural practices worldwide. The tractor was initially launched in 1933 and complete in 1935.

The presentations will cover the development of the various ploughs and hitches including the Belfast Plough, the Eros conversion, Duplex hitch right through to the various iterations of the Ferguson system culminating in the Black tractor as a prototype, followed by the various trials and tribulation of the first production run which was the Ferguson Brown tractor.

There is no attendance charge, but participants are encouraged to make a smalll donation to Daisy Lodge, Newcastle, Co Down on the night.
