Holy Trinity Church, Soldierstown EHOD 2026

52a Soldierstown Road, Aghalee, County Antrim, BT67 0ET
Holy Trinity Church

About

Visit Holy Trinity Church, Aghalee, a remarkable building dating from 1677 and influenced by the Caroline tradition and Bishop Jeremy Taylor. This 350-year-old church has recently undergone a major restoration, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, breathing new life into this historic space while carefully preserving its character.

For EHOD, visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour of the church, taking time to explore its architecture and atmosphere at their own pace. A special photographic exhibition will showcase the restoration project, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the work undertaken to repair, protect and sustain the building for the future. Displays will also highlight images of Old Aghalee Village, connecting the church to its wider community heritage.

Reflecting the theme of Heritage at Risk, this visit provides a unique opportunity to see how conservation work can protect and revitalise historic buildings, ensuring they continue to be valued and enjoyed for generations to come.
