Ulster Aviation Society

About

Step inside the Ulster Aviation Society and explore one of the UK and Ireland’s finest independent aviation collections, housed within two original Second World War hangars.

Following record-breaking EHOD crowds of 7,000 in 2024 and more than 7,200 in 2025 despite wet weather, the Ulster Aviation Society has become one of the largest attractions at EHOD. Families know this is somewhere special: a warm welcome, hands-on discovery, and the kind of memorable day out people talk about long after the weekend ends.

Big in scale, rich in history and genuinely memorable, the Ulster Aviation Society is one of the true highlights of the EHOD weekend.

For EHOD 2026, visitors can get up close to — and into the cockpits of — many historic aircraft, helicopters, engines and artefacts, explore multiple display rooms, and enjoy state-of-the-art flight simulator and VR suites. Expert, knowledgeable volunteers share the stories behind the machines, the people and the preservation work that keeps this aviation heritage collection alive. See our new arrivals, including a Harrier jump jet.

A fantastic family-friendly day out with real scale, atmosphere and significance. Children and adults alike can climb into many open aircraft cockpits, including big jets and helicopters, while aviation enthusiasts can enjoy the depth of the collection and heritage visitors can experience an extraordinary piece of living history within this scheduled monument.  Not to be missed!
