Get back to nature and warm up in one of our cosy coffee shops this autumn.

With the leaves changing and the colder days fast approaching, now is the perfect time to get outside and enjoying the changing seasons before warming up in one of our cosy coffee shops.

Our parks are the best place to be. With lots of scenic walks, woodland trails, kids playparks and cosy coffee shops to warm up in.

So make sure to put Lisburn & Castlereagh on your list of things to do this autumn.

Lisburn

The city center is home to two beautiful parks – Castle Gardens and Wallace Park.

Take in the beautiful surroundings as the leaves change colours. Relax by the fountain in Castle Gardens or discover the ‘How Much I Love You Trail’ based on the popular children's book.

Families can visit the play park at Wallace Park before going to see the duck pond – a firm favorite with both big and little kids.

After your walk, make sure to swing by Koda’s on Railway Street – close to both parks for the best coffee and treats (try their cinnamon bun or banana bread for something special) or treat yourself to brunch.

Hillsborough

Next up, is everyone’s favourite – Hillsborough Forest . Take in the changing seasons by taking a scenic walk around the lake (perfect for prams) or try one of the longer trails. If you are feeling adventurous you can go off the paths and into the trees.

Don't forget to try out the Digital Sculpture Trail. You can download the app before you go and watch the sculptures come to life through your phone.

Finish off by feeding the ducks or visiting their playpark – full of fun for younger children and lots of big slides for older ones.

After your walk, take a short stroll into Royal Hillsborough Village and try out some of their amazing coffee shops – all small independants each serving something different.

Whether you want to try a cruffin at Kin & Folk, a croissant loaf at Roundhouse Bakery or visit Karibu at the top of the Dark Walk for some seriously good coffee. There is something for everyone in this small but mighty village

Moira

Last but certainly not least is Moira Demesne. Park up and take the loop around the park where you can see wooden nature statues, woodland areas overlooking picturesque fields and little ones can try out the play park.

Afterwards you have plenty of choice in Moira. Go for a hot lunch at Langtry Lane (only a few minutes drive away), try an ice cream at Moon Gelato or pop into Glume Bolangerie for the ultimate pastries and coffee.
