Lisburn & Castlereagh Pipe Band + Drum Major Championships

About

Nestled in the heart of the Lagan Valley, Moira Demesne has long been a favourite setting for bands, families, and spectators alike. Its sweeping lawns, leafy avenues, generous parking and open atmosphere create the perfect backdrop for one of the most vibrant days in our pipe band calendar.

Last year’s Championships, which were a triumph of spirit and determination despite the persistent, heavy rain. It may have dampened the kilts but it didn’t dampen the true force of our bands, drum majors, volunteers and supporters who rose to the challenging weather with trademark resilience. We played, we flourished, we had success… and we proved once again that the heart of this pipe band community beats strong and sounds sweet, no matter the weather.

This year, we’re hoping the sun decides to join us — and with a bit of luck, Moira will be glowing in full summer colour as the sound of pipes and drums rolls across the park and the smartness of our drum majors shines through.

What to Expect:

- Top‑class performances from bands across all grades

- Drum Major competition showcasing precision, flair, and flourish

- A (hopefully) day, warm, welcoming family atmosphere in one of the region’s most picturesque outdoor venues

- A chance to enjoy the best of the Lagan Valley area while supporting local talent
