About

Ballyburren Outdoor Escapes offer an excellent forest school for young intrepid adventurers.

The forest school is along a scenic 1.4km nature trail and is located approx. 10mins walk from the main car park. The forest school Ballynahinch is located in a dense beech tree woodland and has three tiers. The upper tier has a campfire area, mud kitchen and story circle. The middle tier is covered by a large roof and is all weather for crafting. The lower tier has a lots of play zones and sensory equipment with a short trail down to a small pond for fishing out swimming wildlife.

We are running two Summer schemes for different age groups every Tuesday and Friday from 1st July to the 29th August.

Summer Club – Muddy Tots Go Wild Forest School
Muddy Tots is suitable for children 18months - 7 years old.

Their themed sessions include:

The Zog
The Hungry Caterpillar
The Tiger Who Came to Tea
Tyrannosaurus Drip
We are Going on a Bear Hunt
Superworm
The Gruffalo
The Very Busy Spider
Room on the Broom.


Summer Club – Young Adventurers Forest School
Young Adventurers is suitable for children 4 years old - 12 years old.

Their themed sessions include:

Wild Tie Dying
The Art of Fire Lighting
Whittling- crafting with natures tools
Tyrannosaurus Drip
Den Building - Wild hideouts
Woodland craft- Wood & bush skills
Clay creations in the wild
