About
FLOURISH is a project which researches and explores the shared linguistic connections between Ulster and Scotland, including Irish & Scottish Gaelic, and Scots & Ulster Scots. We want to work with communities to explore the benefits of our shared Irish and Scottish heritage through the lens of Irish, Ulster Scots and Scottish Gaelic language and culture.
There will be a public workshop on Friday 6th November, 10am - 12.30pm in Lisburn City Library. Join us as we look at topics including place names, surnames and how English is spoken in Ulster.
Registration link below.
This is the first of three workshops, to be held during the next year, and will last approx. 2.5 hours. We will provide light refreshments. The workshop is aimed at adults. If anyone under 18 would like to attend, they must be accompanied by an adult.
In the latter half of the project, the project team will run an optional trip to Donegal, north Antrim or Scotland for those who complete the workshops (places limited). The costs of the trip will be covered by FLOURISH and more information about this will be released to community groups in due course.
