Ballyburren Outdoor Escapes offers a collection of premium outdoor experiences set within 18 acres of beautifully landscaped countryside just outside Ballynahinch, County Down, only 25 minutes from Belfast. With scenic pathways, woodland, ponds and over 6,500 trees, Ballyburren provides a peaceful natural setting for memorable days out, gentle adventure and time well spent outdoors.
From alpaca trekking and golden hour date-night experiences to restorative yoga, Little Explorers and seasonal classes, each experience is designed to help guests slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy the beauty of the countryside in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Alpaca Trekking
Our signature Alpaca Trekking experience is a relaxed guided walk along a private 1.4 km scenic trail through farmland, woodland and wetlands. Guests will cross handcrafted bridges, take in picturesque views and enjoy the company of one of our gentle alpacas along the way.
At the end of the trail, guests can enjoy time at our unique island coffee trailer, with barista-quality coffee, tea and delicious traybakes available in a peaceful outdoor setting surrounded by nature.
Luxury picnic hampers can also be pre-booked as part of the trekking experience, offering a relaxed alfresco meal at one of our picnic spots.

Golden Hour Alpaca Trekking
Our Golden Hour Alpaca Trekking & Luxury Charcuterie Board experience combines the calm beauty of a sunset alpaca walk with an indulgent charcuterie board served in the warm light of golden hour.
Designed exclusively for adults and ideal for couples, this two-hour experience offers a romantic and relaxed way to enjoy Ballyburren in the evening.
This experience includes:
One alpaca per adult

Restorative Yoga Classes

Little Explorers Fairy Door Trail
Little Explorers is a gentle outdoor experience designed for parents, babies, toddlers and younger visitors to enjoy Ballyburren’s natural surroundings at a relaxed pace.
Families can follow our scenic 1.4 km nature trail through farmland, woodland and wetlands, crossing wooden bridges and discovering over 20 magical fairy doors along the way. Guests can also meet our friendly alpacas at the start of the trail, with alpaca feed available from our vending machine.
The trail is suitable for prams with larger wheels, baby carriers and supervised toddlers, making it an easy and enjoyable way for families to spend time outdoors together. Afterwards, guests can visit our island coffee trailer for a hot or cold drink, traybake and a relaxing pitstop surrounded by nature.
