A unique meeting of minds: writer and comedian Nuala McKeever, award-winning poet Jim McElroy and songwriter Anthony Toner join in conversation and performance to offer an insight into their work and creative processes.
Writer, broadcaster and performer Nuala McKeever has toured across Ireland this year with ‘Truth, Love or Promise’, already regarded as her most accomplished piece of writing yet. Poet Jim McElroy has emerged fast into the spotlight with an impressive haul of awards (among others – the Seamus Heaney New Writing & Poetry Ireland Introductions awards), his debut collection, ‘We Are the Weather’, an International Book and Pamphlet winner with Poetry Business. Highly acclaimed songwriter Anthony Toner is no stranger to The Island, having performed here many times to celebrate his various albums – most recently the beautiful double album ‘The Book of Absolution’.
This relaxed evening will feature readings, songs and conversations between the artists. Expect some insights and secrets, and some tips and advice on the creative process - there will be an option for questions from the audience to finish.
