About
It was held in two venues, London and Philadelphia, and featured a star-studded lineup of performers, including Queen, Elton John, and Ultravox. On the day, Live Aid raised £40 million (over £120 million today) for famine relief in Ethiopia and showcased the power of music to unite a global audience.
Forty years on, we are marking the anniversary with a display featuring an original ticket, programme, and footage from the concert. The story is told through the eyes of a Lisburn man who was there – Colin Sloan, one of our Gallery Attendants.
